For those of you who have never used a mobile tutoring app—and even those of you who have—you might be wondering how Pundits works. Every tutoring app is different. Pundits, in particular, innovates the model of traditional tutoring to answer questions the way they are most often asked: one at a time, at the last minute, and when your student is really stuck.
Pundits connects students to tutors through two interfaces. Students use the Pundits app on their iPhones (Android is coming soon) to ask a question. It’s as easy as taking a picture of the homework problem in question and pressing “submit.” Like magic, the question shows up on the Pundits Tutor app. A qualified tutor will preview and accept the question, initiating a live session.
Once a question is accepted, students will see a video feed open in their app. This session feed will employ our livestreaming technology, coupled with a whiteboard, so that students can watch tutors write out the work and supporting equations involved in solving their homework problem. At the same time, they can hear the tutor explaining the work as he goes. Students can also engage with tutors live, asking questions throughout sessions. Completed sessions (videos of answered questions) remain in student’s personal feeds so students can rewatch them as needed, at no extra cost. They can even ask questions later, using chat.
That’s it! It’s so simple. No more running around, scheduling, or budgeting. And no more scrambling at the last minute to help your stressed out students. We know parents and students have enough to juggle; let’s make sure educational support is actually supportive, and not another chore that has to be squeezed in.
